Drinks anyone?

Regional drinks are also available for purchase in the airports. Many times you can only find specialty soda east of the Mississippi. Maybe your favorite beverage is west of the Mississippi. Regardless of the direction, once you are in the airport and your layover has started, it is a good time to look for that drink that you can only have on this side of the United States. Your favorite beverage may be a fountain drink, or it may come only in bottles. Once you know what you want, usually it can be found either in a deli, or one of those small markets.

Maybe your favorite drink is coffee or tea. So many specialty coffee shops are opening up in the airports. You can find any of the flavored coffee or even some of the international flavors that you usually can only enjoy if someone is coming back from a trip to the country. Splurge and sit, until your next flight is called, enjoy the aroma and the smooth taste of that cup of coffee. You may have time for two cups. Let the tension leave your body as you let the warmth of the coffee wash away all of your troubles.

Now, if you are a little older and you enjoy something a little stronger than a cup of java, you may want to stop by one of the many boutique bars. They have expert bartenders that know how to mix a great drink. If you are smart you will look for special that are usually available if you ask. Some of the bars may serve a basic sandwich menu, or they may just have the regular salty snacks that are typical of most bars. Don’t relax too much; remember you have to catch the next leg of your flight!
